Taneesha Reynolds, CNM, MSN, MBA was drawn to midwifery after an experience at a women’s conference she attended at church her freshman year of college. “I left the conference knowing that I wanted to pursue a career path that would touch the lives of women mentally, spiritually, and physically. When I returned to school, I changed my major to nursing with the intention of becoming a Nurse-Midwife.”
Taneesha graduated in 2003 from Tennessee State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the next six years, gaining broad nursing experiences in labor and delivery, public health, and managed care. In 2010 she graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Midwifery Program. She also holds a MBA with a focus in health care management from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining the Baby and Company team, Taneesha practiced as a Certified Nurse-Midwife at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Faculty Practice. She began her career as a nurse-midwife providing full scope midwifery care at the Lisa Ross Birth and Women’s Center in Knoxville, TN.
“It is an honor to assist women in birthing and staying healthy throughout their lifespan. I enjoy working with women from all walks of life and I view childbirth, and other women’s lifecycle events, to be normal processes. I believe women have the ability to make the best choices for their own healthcare. As a midwife, my job is to empower, support and guide women as they make these important decisions. I see being a certified nurse-midwife as a calling and a ministry to be with woman, providing holistic care, and seeing that the body as well as the spirit of the woman is healthy, whole, and at peace.”
