Taneesha Reynolds is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was drawn to midwifery after a life changing experience at a women’s conference her freshman year of college. She left the conference with a clear mandate to empower women to live their best lives mentally, spiritually, and physically. Taneesha graduated in 2003 from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to pursue a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated and became a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2010. Taneesha also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. A highlight in her professional career was coming to Baby and Company and being a part of the groundbreaking team that helped to open Nashville’s only accredited out-of-hospital birthing center. Taneesha is also an instructor at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. As a nurse-midwife, Taneesha has assisted over 500 families in childbirth. “It is an honor to assist women in birthing and to help them stay physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy throughout their lifespan.”
Taneesha enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family, and husband, Joshua. Other avenues in which Taneesha empowers women are motivational speaking, writing, and blogging. She sees being a midwife as a calling and a ministry to be with women providing holistic care and seeing that the body as well as the spirit of the woman is healthy, whole, and at peace.
