Alys Moore, MSN, CNM is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she completed training as a nurse-midwife and a family nurse practitioner. She has long been interested in women’s health, and first studied the intersection of birth and culture in college as an anthropology major at Kenyon College. Later, she conducted research on a Fulbright grant in Mali, West Africa, where she had the privilege of learning from local birth workers of various backgrounds.
As a midwife, Alys is enthusiastic about supporting the normalcy of birth and bodies every day. She considers it a privilege to help clients and families take charge of their own healthcare and to help advocate for reproductive choice for all people.
Alys is originally a Hoosier who has called Nashville home for over 5 years. She enjoys spending time outside trail running and hiking, gardening, and visiting her favorite area thrift stores!
